4.18.22 | Women's Basketball
PHILADELPHIA – Temple head women's basketball coach Diane Richardson has begun to build her staff with two additions to the program's support staff. Jasmine Allen joins as the director of basketball operations while Aaron Thomas comes on as the video coordinator.
Allen comes to Temple after spending the 2021-22 season as Towson's director of basketball operations. Joining Richardson's staff at Towson in 2019, Allen served two full seasons as the assistant director of basketball operations before earning her promotion.
"Jasmine has so much experience from USA Basketball to the NBA," Richardson said. "She will be instrumental to the operations of our program."
"I am grateful and honored to be joining Coach Richardson's staff and the Temple family," said Allen. "I am excited to build on the opportunity given to contribute to the success and tradition of the program. I look forward to working with our student-athletes and staff to take our program to new heights."
During her time with Towson, Allen also worked with USA Basketball in a multitude of roles, serving as support staff for a variety of USA Basketball team tryouts and camps, the U16-U19 Women's Team Trials, Pan-American Women's Team Trials, and U18 Men's and Women's 3x3 Team Camp. Through work with USA Basketball, Allen earned the opportunity to work for the NBA's 2020 Season Restart Bubble as a team attendant as well.
Thomas joins the Temple women's basketball program after working as an acting director of basketball operations at Towson under Richardson. Thomas came into the role after he was promoted to head student manager and video coordinator prior to the start of the 2020-21 season.
"Aaron has done some wonderful video productions and has led scouting, recruiting, and highlighting efforts for the past several years," said Richardson.
"I am more than happy and grateful for Coach Richardson for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of this new journey at Temple," Thomas said. "I am ready to get to work to create a championship culture along with our players and staff."
Prior to his time at Towson, Thomas played basketball at Alright College and Montgomery College. At Montgomery, he helped his team to win the MDJUCO Championship, their first title since 1992. Thomas graduated from Towson in 2021 with Bachelor of Science in Electronic Media & Film.
