Novice 8 to Race at Dad Vail

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's rowing team will be represented at the 2022 Dad Vail Regatta, with the Owls set to race its novice eight boat. Temple's varsity boats are at the American Athletic Conference Championships being held Sunday in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
Temple earned medals in four of five events in the 2021 Dad Vail. In the third varsity eight, Temple won by open water over Drexel (10 seconds behind) and Fordham (23 seconds back). The Owls made some noise in the final race of the day, earning a bronze medal in the varsity eight final. It was the first medal in the team's top boat since 1999.
The Dad Vail Regatta will return to its two-day format this year after COVID restrictions shortened last year's event to just one day. Heat races will take place on Friday while final races will take place on Sunday. The novice eight boat is set to launch Friday at 9:06 a.m. on the Schuylkill River, with heat times subject to change.
