Women's Rowing to Race at AAC Championships

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. - The Temple women's rowing team will compete at the AAC Championships on Sunday morning, racing in all four events on Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn.Â

PREVIEWING THE OWLS
> Two boats earned medals at the Eastern Sprints on May 1, with the V4 and 2V8 both taking home bronze in their finals categories.
> Last month the Owls took home the Murphy Cup for the first time since 1995, winning its home regatta that featured 21 schools.
> Overall Temple took home two bronze medals and two gold medals, defeating Georgetown by just .32 seconds in the V8 race.
> The senior class went out in style at the Kerr Cup on the Schuylkill, bringing home five medals in the six events Temple raced.
PREVIEWING THE CHAMPIONSHIP
> SMU is the front runner for the second year in a row, earning the top seed in all four events.
> All four boats for the Mustangs are ranked in the top-4 in their Region, with the V8 coming in at No. 12 in the nation.
> UCF received votes in the latest poll (May 3).
> In last year's race, SMU won gold in all four events to win the team title, while UCF finished second, Tulsa and Sacramento State tied for third, and Temple came in fifth.
