Three Owls Qualify for Track and Field NCAA East Regional

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple track and field team will send three student-athletes to the NCAA East Regional as Laura Nicholson, Tannekee Strachan, and Marissa White all qualified in their respective events. The NCAA East Regional will take place from May 26-28 in Bloomington, Ind. at the Haugh Track and Field Complex.
The Owls
> Tannekee Strachan's personal-best jump of 13.09m in the triple jump earned her a spot in the event. Strachan looks to continue her stellar season after setting the school record earlier this year with a wind-legal mark of 12.98m.
> Junior Laura Nicholson qualified for the 1,500m run with a time of 4:20.94. Nicholson set the personal-best time back at the Virginia Challenge in April.
> Senior Marissa White sprinted to a personal-best time of 53.84, also at the Virginia Challenge. White took first-place in a packed field at the meet.
About the NCAA East Regional
> The men's events will begin on Wednesday, May 25 while the women will start on Thursday, May 26.
> The first round of the 1,500m and 400m runs will take place at 6:30pm and 7:25pm, respectively, on May 26 while the quarterfinals for the events begin on May 28. The first round for the women's triple jump commences at 6:00pm on May 28.
> The top 12 individuals in each event will earn a spot at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, which runs from June 8-11 in Eugene, Ore.
