The 2022 Greatness Doesn't Quit award goes to Ariana Castrence!
This is the second award for Castrence voted on by her team this season. She capped off an outstanding four-year career with the Owls, while putting her team in excellent position to win their fourth straight conference championship. While winning multiple individual awards in 2022, Castrence saved her best individual performance for her last season as she broke personal records, including on the vault, bars, and beam with 9.9s or better. In her final home meet of her career on March 6, the Waldorf, Md. native scored her first-ever 9.925 in any event, while picking up the victory on the beam. She won two times in the all-around, three on the vault, and one on the beam and bars, while propelling her to the 2022 First Team All-EAGL on the vault and Second Team on the beam. In addition, Castrence finished tied for fourth place on beam at the EAGL Championships during the Owls' postseason run, giving her a EAGL All-Tournament First Team plaudit on that apparatus. Later in the evening, during the post-EAGL Tournament festivities, Castrence was honored with the 2022 Senior Gymnast Award.
