Temple All-Time Great Brandon Matthews to Play in Wells Fargo Championship This Weekend

PHILADELPHIA – One of Temple's all-time great golfers, Brandon Matthews, will being competing this weekend in the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship.   It marks the second time that Matthews, who currently is playing on the Korn Ferry Tour, will compete in a PGA Tour event.  He also played in the 2020 Arnold Palmer Invitational.

"Brandon is a tremendous player with incredible talent," said Temple head coach Brian Quinn. "I am so excited to watch him compete this week against golf's greatest players."

Matthews, who played at Temple from 2012-16, tied the Temple career record for individual titles with eight, and also was a four-time all-conference honoree.  As a junior in 2015, he became the first Temple player to earn All-America honors since 1988 when he was named Honorable Mention All-American.  He also was a three-time PING all-Region selection.
