Lacrosse's Zinkl Named PhillySIDA Academic All-Area

PHILADELPHIA - Temple lacrosse player Lauren Zinkl has been honored for her academic and athletic performance as she was named one of the 12 student-athletes on the PhillySIDA Academic All-Area Women's lacrosse team. The team is nominated and voted on by the sports information offices of 30 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area honors, an athlete must be in at least their second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better.Â
Zinkl started in all 19 games Temple played this season. The attacker scored six goals and dished out two assists, she also scooped three ground balls. Zinkl has been a model student during her four years at Temple. The mechanical engineering has regularly been among the best academic performers among all Temple athletes, culminating in being named a Temple female scholar athlete of the year at the 2022 Stella's ceremony. She completed her undergraduate degree in the fall and began taking graduate level engineering classes in the spring semester.
