6.8.22 | Field Hockey, Football

PHILADELPHIA – Temple University student-athletes Emma Nesbitt and Wisdom Quarshie have been named to the 2022-23 American Athletic Conference SAAC Executive Board, the conference announced today.  It marks the first time Temple has had two student-athletes on the five-member board since its inception in 2016.

Nesbitt, a senior on the field hockey team, will serve as the board's Coordinator of Public Relations while Quarshie, a redshirt sophomore, will be the board's Coordinator of Diversity & Inclusion.

The duo are the fifth and sixth Temple Owls to serve on the conference's SAAC Executive Board.  They join Matt Kristick (golf) - Vice Chair (2020-21), Lucy Reed (field hockey) - Vice Chair (2019-20), David Fitzgerald (cross country) - Vice Chair (2018-19, 2017-18) and Alyssa Drachslin (volleyball) – Chair/National SAAC Rep (2016-17).  Fitzgerald is the only Temple student-athlete to serve two years on the board while Drachslin, who is in her fifth year as Temple's Coordinator for Leadership and Professional Development, served as the AAC National SAAC rep for two years. Her first year, 2015-16 predates the formation of the board.
