Men’s and Women’s Tennis Collect ITA Academic Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Temple men's and women's tennis teams were named All-Academic teams by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association while 12 Owls were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the organization.
Men's tennis players Marin Delmas, Thibault Frumholz, Louis Gorregues, Leo Raquin, Amine Zraidi, Hussein El Tawil along with women's tennis players Vineetha Mummadi, Stefaniya Surikova, Sena Takebe, Yining Tian, Evie Wei, and Veronika Kulhava were all honored for their successes both on the court and in the classroom.
The women's tennis team garnered a team GPA of 3.57 while the men's team registered a GPA of 3.52. The academic honor marks the fifth-straight year for the women and the seventh-straight season for the men.
Delmas and Frumholz earned the honor for the third time in their careers, while Gorregues and Raquin were awarded with their second academic accolade, and Zraidi and El Tawil earned their first nods.
On the women's side, Surikova was named an ITA Scholar-Athletes for the fourth time, while Tian earned her third and Mummadi and Takebe collected their second such honors. Kulhava and Wei picked their first recognitions with the Owls.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the current academic year (on a 4.00 scale) and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements: 1.) have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), 2.) all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and 3.) all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
