18 Gymnasts Earn WCGA Scholastic All-American Honors

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Temple gymnastics team had 18 gymnasts named Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Scholastic All-Americans, the association announced on Wednesday.
To be named a WCGA Scholastic All-American, a gymnast must have a minimum of a 3.50 GPA for the 2021-2022 academic year.
The Owls combined for a 3.59 GPA, while the 18 WCGA All-Americans earned a 3.5 or higher, including 11 members of the team earning a 3.80 GPA or higher for the 2021-22 school year.
Overall, the association had 53 teams and a record number of student-athletes (1,077) with a GPA of 3.5 or more, the second consecutive year of more than 1,000 Scholastic All-America team members were awarded.
Recent graduate Taylor Newland earned her fourth WCGA award, while fellow 2022 graduate Faith Leary earned her third honor with the Owls.
Eight others including Hannah Barry, Kayla Deveau, Brooke Donabedian, Caitlin Gray, Lanie Hyman, Julianna Roland, Renee Schugman, and Cyrena Whalen are repeat recipients for the Cherry and White squad.
