MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Temple Golf team opens its 2022-23 season Sunday at the 13-team GolfWeek Fall Challenge.  The three-day, 72-hole stroke play event will be held at the 6,926-yard par 72 True Blue Golf Course.

Scouting the Owls
> Temple head coach Brian Quinn returns four of its top six golfers from last year's squad led by their senior Conor McGrath. The Owls' top returnee is coming off his best season, leading the Cherry and White with a career-best 71.88 stroke average in '21-22.    He earned PING All-Region accolades and continued his strong play in the summer by qualifying for the U.S. Amateur for the second time.
> Graham Chase, who has played all 74 rounds in his three-year career, will again be among the Owls starting five as will Ethan Whitney, who is in his second season as a starter.  Chase tied for second on the team with a 73.50 stroke average with 11 rounds at par or below.  Whitney, who also competed in the U.S. Amateur this summer, was right behind Chase with a 74.09 stroke average.  He also tied Chase with three top-10 finishes on the season.
> Joey Morganti, who played in 16 rounds in his debut season in 2021-22, will move into the starting lineup.  Morganti played at the GolfWeek Fall Challenge last year, recording a one-under 71 for his final round, one of three 71s on the season.
> Jake Naese, who redshirted last year, will open the season in the starting five for the Owls while Andrew Curran and freshman Darren Nolan will play as individuals.

The Field
> Twelve other schools will be in the field: Austin Peay, Delaware, Eastern Kentucky, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville State, Presbyterian, Queens, Samford, Stephen F. Austin St., Southern Indiana, Tennessee Tech and Wright State.
> Temple tees off at 9:15 am from hole 1.
