Field Hockey Tops Bucknell in Second-Straight Five Goal Game

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Temple field hockey team earned its third-straight win of the season Sunday afternoon, topping Bucknell 5-2. With the win, the Owls improve to 5-1 on the season while the Bison fall to 1-4.Â
Recapping the Game
> The first quarter was quiet, with both teams combining for just one shot on one corner.
> Temple was the first team to get on the board as Julianne Kopec converted the team's first corner of the day.
> The Owls came out of the half on fire, scoring three goals in the first five minutes of the third quarter.
> Kopec scored her second-straight of the day after Bucknell's keeper was drawn out of the net before Maddie Molchany and McKenna Burkhardt converted penalty corners to give Temple a 4-0 lead at the 34-minute mark.
> The Bison looked to gain some offensive momentum at the end of the third quarter, drawing Molly Frey out of the cage and scoring with less than a minute left on the clock.
> Burkhardt scored her second of the day on a penalty corner attempt at the top of the fourth quarter, but Bucknell would convert a penalty corner of its own with just five second left on the clock.
