McGrath, Chase Named Temple Golf Captains
9.15.22 | Men's Golf
PHILADELPHIA – Conor McGrath and Graham Chase have been named the captains of the 2022-23 Temple Golf team, announced head coach Brian Quinn.
"Conor has not only been one of the top golfers in the history of Temple Golf, but one of the team's best leaders and Graham is someone who has demonstrated his leadership during his first three seasons with the program," said Quinn, who is in his 16th year at the helm of the program. "We are fortunate to have two incredible student-athletes to lead our team this season."
McGrath is in his fifth season as an Owl and third as a team captain. The Huntingdon Valley, Pa. native is coming off the best year of his career, leading Temple with a career-best 71.88 stroke average while earning PING All-Region honors for the second time. He also qualified for the U.S. Amateur for the second time.
Chase, a native of Charlotte, N.C., is also coming off his best season as an Owl. In 2021-22, he tied for second on the team with a 73.50 stroke average and made his first hole-in-one as a college golfer. Like McGrath, he has been a starter since his arrival at Temple.
The Owls co-host the Temple and Cornell Invitational this Saturday and Sunday at The 1912 Club in Plymouth Meerting, Pa.
