Field Hockey Looks to Bounce Back With Pair of Home Games

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple field hockey team will look to bounce back from two-straight losses with a pair of home games this weekend. The Owls (7-3, 1-1 BIG EAST) will host Georgetown and Drexel for the second and third games in a four-game homestand.

SCOUTING TEMPLE
> The Owls are on a two-game skid for the first time this season, dropping a 3-2 double overtime heartbreaker at Villnova Friday night before being shutout by Penn on Sunday.
> Temple has outscored its opponents 29-12, scoring eight more goals than last season's total through just 10 games. The Cherry and White has scored 5+ goals four times this season.
> 12 Owls have scored so far, with McKenna Burkhardt's six leading the team.
> Molly Frey has been a force in goal, posting 27 of the team's 30 saves. She entered the weekend with a 0.692 save percentage and a 1.16 GAA to rank 17th in the NCAA. Her win-loss percentage (0.700) is 21st.
> The Cherry and White mounted a tremendous comeback effort in its 6-3 league opening win, clawing back from a 3-0 deficit at the half with six unanswered goals. Four of Temple's six goals came in a six-minute span during the third quarter.

SCOUTING GEORGETOWN
> Georgetown is 3-7 (0-2 BIG EAST) on the season and comes to North Philadelphia on a four-game losing streak.
> The Hoyas are just 1-4 on the road, last winning a game 1-0 at Saint Francis.
> The team has been outscored by its opponents 32-16, ranking last in the conference in goals per game (1.60).
> Vivienne Trumpbour leads the team's offensive effort, recording four goals and three assists.
> Ciara Weets has been in the cage nearly every minute this season, ranking eighth in the NCAA in saves per game (6.60).

SERIES HISTORY
> Temple and Georgetown have met 14 times in series history, with the Owls holding a 9-5 advantage.
> The Owls dropped the last game in the series, and is 2-3 in the last five games.
> The teams have played back to back games in D.C., with the Hoyas last making the trip to North Broad in 2018.
