Field Hockey Tops Longwood in Third Shutout of the Season

FARMVILLE, Va. - The Temple field hockey team earned its third shutout of the season Sunday afternoon, topping Longwood 2-0. The Owls improve to 3-1 on the season while the Lancers fall to 1-3.
Recapping the Game
> Longwood controlled the first quarter of the game, firing three shots with two on target.
> The second quarter was all Temple, with the Cherry and White firing nine shots and drawing seven corners. Nienke Oerlemans scored the game-winner off the rebound at the 28 minute mark.
> Temple put the game away less than a minute into the third quarter, with Tess Muller scoring off a pass from Myrthe Schuilenburg.
> The Lancers looked to get on the board in the final 15 minutes, but the Owl defense stood tall and kept Longwood out of the cage.
