Volleyball adds Olivia Vance to 2023 Roster

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's volleyball Head Coach Linda Hampton-Keith announced the signing of Olivia Vance to the 2023 Owls' roster on Tuesday.
"I am thrilled that Olivia will be joining our team this spring. Her leadership abilities, her skill set and her post season experience are a great addition to our team at the perfect time." said Hampton-Keith. "Our team looks forward to welcoming Olivia on our journey as we continue to move forward together as a program."
Vance, a transfer from the University of Toledo, played both outside hitter and middle blocker in her four seasons. Vance played with the Rockets from 2019-22 where she was all-time performer, playing 389 sets in a span of 107 career matches.
The Saline, Mich. native finished her four seasons with the Rockets, three points short of a 1,000 of her career. Vance tallied 774 kills, averaging 1.99 kills/set with a .278 hitting percentage. On the defensive side, Vance recorded 325 career blocks (258 block assists, 67 solo blocks), averaging .84 blocks/set, putting her in top 10 all-time in Toledo's program history.
Vance helped the Rockets to the 2022 National Invitational Volleyball Championships after a 19-13 season. The Rockets advanced to the second round of the NIVC tournament to play Western Carolina after knocking off Clemson in the first round. In 2022, Vance played in 110 sets in all 32 matches and was third on the team with 282.5 points, 227 kills, and a .284 hitting percentage. Defensively, the Michigan native was second on the Toledo squad with 88 blocks (65 block assists, 23 solo blocks).
In 2021, Vance appeared in 29 of the 32 matches where she ranked third on the team with 209 kills, while averaging 2.20 kills/set, also the third-best mark on the Rockets. Defensively, Vance led Toledo with 95 blocks, including a team-high 21 solo blocks. Her 1.00 blocks/set ranked her seventh in the Mid-American Conference.
Vance started 18 matches as a sophomore during 2020-21. During the CoVID-played spring season, the outside/middle blocker ranked second on the team with 179 kills and was third with 16 service aces.
As a freshman in 2019, Vance played in all 28 matches, seeing time in 108 sets. Vance recorded the second most blocks (68) and .63 blocks/set. Offensively, Vance chipped in on the attack with 159 kills.
