Haeufgloeckner Named AAC Defensive Player of the Week

The sophomore scored the game winner last week vs. Syracuse.
IRVING, Tex.- Men's soccer sophomore Rocco Haeufgloeckner has been named American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday. He is the second Owl to earn a weekly award from the AAC this season.
Haeufgloeckner had a signature moment in last week's 2-1 win over No. 10 Syracuse, as his 89th minute goal put the Owls on top for good. It was his first career goal and came on his only shot attempt of the game. Haeufgloeckner has also been a stalwart on the defensive end, helping the Owls' backline hold Syracuse and South Florida to a total of two goals and seven shots on goal last week. He played all 180 minutes in those matches.
Haeufgloeckner is the first Temple player to AAC Defensive Player of the Week this season, and joins Juan Zepeda (Rookie of the Week, 10/2) as Owls to earn weekly recognition from the conference this season. It is the second career weekly award for the sophomore from Kirzchell, Germany.
The Owls will be back in action tomorrow when they close their non-conference schedule at Stony Brook. Kickoff is set for 6:30pm.
