Joey Morganti Wins the City 6 Championship

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. – Joey Morganti shot a career-best five-under 67 at the 18-hole City 6 Championship, and then won a three-man playoff tiebreaker with a par on the fourth hole to win his first collegiate championship.   The one-round championship was held at the par-72, 6,986-yard Sunnybrook Golf Club 

Drexel captured the team title, shooting a seven-under 281, with Temple three strokes back (-4, 284) in second place.   Villanova placed third (+1) followed by La Salle (+11) and Saint Joseph's (+14).

Recapping the Day
> Morganti led the way for the Owls with four birdies on the front nine and an eagle on the 14th before suffering his lone bogey on the final hole.   He was one of only three golfers to record an eagle on the day and his four birdies tied him for third.  
> Ethan Whitney, who also had four birdies on the day, including one on the 18th, was next for the Owls and tied for fourth overall with a two-under 70.
> Graham Chase was two shots back and tied for seventh with an even-par 72.
> Michael Walsh rounded out Tuesday's scorers for Temple with a one-over 72.  He finished tied for 49th overall with a four-over 217.
> Aidan Emmerich (+4) and Matthew Vital (+6) rounded out the Temple team, tying for 20th and 24th, respectively.   
> Playing as independents, Andrew Curran carded a two-over 74 to tie for 13th while Brett McGrath placed 36th with a 10-over 82.
