PHILADELPHIA - Harrison "Jordan" Viener, who joined the Temple Athletics staff as a Strategic Communications Assistant in January 2021, has been promoted to Senior Strategic Communications Coordinator.  In this role, Viener will continue to handle communications for women's basketball, men's and women's cross country and women's track while taking on a leadership role with content development.

This is the second promotion for Viener in his three years at Temple as he was elevated to Strategic Communications Coordinator in October 2022.

"I am thrilled to take on this new role within Temple Athletics," said Viener. "I would like to thank (Executive Sr. Associate AD) Ed Stoner as well as the stratcomm and external teams for believing in me and trusting me with this opportunity. I am excited to continue to help tell the story of our tremendous students and programs here at Temple Athletics."

"Jordan has worked tirelessly to tell the story of Temple Athletics and our student-athletes and I feel he is the perfect person to oversee content development for the athletics department moving forward," said Stoner.

In his time at Temple, Viener has been extremely successful in engaging Owls' fans on social and digital media. While working with the Temple women's lacrosse program his first season, the program's Instagram account generated a 36% increase in followers. Three of the top five, and six of the top 10 most liked tweets in Temple men's soccer history were also released under his year working with that program.

This past season, besides assisting with the transition of first-year head coach Diane Richardson, Viener helped the women's basketball program record its highest month of engagement (Jan. 2023) in program history.

Before arriving at Temple, Viener worked at North Dakota State University as a student intern in its athletic communications department from 2019-2020. Viener also has experience working with the Washington Spirit in their communications department.

Viener graduated from North Dakota State University in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in sport management and earned a master's degree in 2022 in communication management from Temple.
