Women’s Basketball Set to Host Delaware on Thursday Night

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple women's basketball team (4-5) will look to get back to .500 as the Owls host the Delaware Blue Hens (4-5) this Thursday at 7 p.m. Temple is coming off a 61-47 victory over Big 5 rival Penn on Sunday afternoon. Tickets are available to purchase at Owlstix.com. The game will stream on ESPN+ and The Varsity Network App.

> Toy Drive: It is Temple women's basketball's annual toy drive game. Fans are encouraged to bring any new or gently used toys to The Liacouras Center, all donations benefit Shriners Hospital.

> Temple claimed victory over Penn, 61-47 on Sunday afternoon at Liacouras Center. It was Temple's second win in three games and first Big 5 win of the season.

> Piper was named the AAC and Big 5 Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, it is the second time this season the forward has been honored by the Big 5. She leads the team in both rebounds (6.8 rpg) and blocks (1.4 bpg).
> Rayne Tucker has been a player to watch for the Cherry & White, averaging 9.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest. She scored in double-figures in four of the last five games.
> Temple is one of the elite offensive glass teams in the country this season. The Owls ranks 11th nationally and first in the American in offensive rebounds per game (16.8).
SCOUTING DELAWARE
> Last season, Delaware concluded its season with a 16-14 record. The Blue Hens finished 9-9 in the CAA.
> Delaware is 4-5 this year. The team has been streaking, with three of wins coming in sequence. The Hens have dropped their last two games, most recently falling at VCU, 64-55.
> A quartet of Blue Hens standout. Tara Cousins, Klarke Sconiers, Chloe Wilson, and Sydney Boone all average over ten points per contest. Sconiers and Wilson were named to preseason All-CAA team, with Cousins and Boone already earning weekly honors from the conference.
> Sarah Jenkins is in her second season leading Delaware after spending several years as an assistant on staff. She is 20-19 is her career as a head coach. Jenkins and Coach Richardson have history, with Richardson as Jenkins AAU coach when she was in high school.

> This will be the 21st meeting between Temple and Delaware. Despite being located 38 miles apart, the two have met only twice this century.
