PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's basketball guard Aleah Nelson has been named Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending on 12/17/23. She was also named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll. It is the second time this season Nelson has been honored by the Big 5 and first time since being named Second Team Preseason All-Conference she has been recognized by the American. The Baltimore native was honored by the American five times last season and four times by the Big 5 with weekly honors.

Nelson scored a season-high 22 points in Temple's 72-65 win over Delaware on Thursday while adding five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Nelson went 5-6 (.833) from beyond the arc and 8-13 from the field in the win, her three-point percentage was the best in a single game (min. 5 attempts) since Kristen McCarthy went 5-5 vs Richmond on 1/29/2011. Temple as a team had its best three point shooting performance (8-14/.571) of the season.
