PHILADELPHIA – Temple lacrosse (3-1, 0-0 AAC) is set to host No. 17 Princeton (0-1, 0-0 IVY) on Saturday, Feb. 25 at Howarth Field. First draw is set for noon and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.Â

The matchup between the Owls and the Tigers marks the 35th time the teams' have met in program history, with an all-time record of 9-25. Temple and Princeton last met in 2022, where No. 11 Princeton edged No. 18 Temple, 14-11.

Scouting TempleÂ
- The Owls enter the matchup with a 3-1 record, most recently posting a 9-7 win over Delaware on Wednesday in a true back-and-forth battle. The lead shifted a total of eight times throughout the game, but a fourth quarter burst from the Owls, in which they outscored the Blue Hens 4-2 earned the Cherry and White the final advantage, resulting in a win.
- Charessa Crosse and Belle Mastropietro led Temple with two goals apiece. Crosse netted both of her goals in the fourth quarter, including the go-ahead eighth goal, which gave the Owls a lead that they never lost.
- Mastropietro stays at the top of the point leaderboard for the Owls with 17 points on 13 goals and four assists. Following behind is Mackenzie Roth, who has showed her versatility, netting five goals while also dishing out five assists.
- Camryn Zavacky continues to be a valuable helper, leading the team in assists, with six.
- Defender Katie Shallow sits at third in the conference in groundballs per game (3.00) and second in caused turnovers per game (2.25), while fellow defender Maddie Barber joins her at the top of the conference charts, sitting at fourth in groundballs per game (2.75)
- Amelia Wright has started off strong in 2023 after returning from injury. She has recorded at least one point in each of the Owls four contests for a season total of five goals and three assists.
- Sophomore Taylor Grollman has assumed the primary role of goalkeeper for the Owls, starting in all four competitions of 2023. The Severn, Md., native has recorded 20 saves on the season for a .417 save percentage and 7.00 GAA, the lowest GAA in the conference. In addition, at the start of the week, Grollman's 7.00 GAA tied for 10th nationally.
Scouting No. 17 PrincetonÂ
- Princeton enters the matchup with just one game under their belt, falling to No. 13 Virginia, 20-11 on Feb. 18. The Tigers put up a fight, only trailing by three at halftime, but an eight-goal third quarter push from the Cavaliers proved to be enough to earn the win.
- After the loss to Virginia, the Tigers dropped from No. 16 to No. 17 in the IWLCA Poll, falling two spots from their preseason ranking which was No. 15.
- Princeton is led by sophomore Nina Montes with six points on four goals and two assists.
- The Tigers entered the season as the Preseason Ivy League favorite, receiving fourteen first place votes. Princeton clinched the Ivy League Championship last year in a 19-9 win over Yale, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before dropping to Syracuse, 13-9.
- Grace Taukus, Kate Mulham and Maria Pansini all return for Princeton as 2022 All-Conference selections. Taukus and Mulham earned All-IVY Second Team honors, while Pansini earned a spot on the Honorable Mention squad.
