Golf Finishes Ninth After Day One of Cleveland Palmetto Intercollegiate

AIKEN, S.C. – Temple Golf finished the first two rounds of the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate in 9th place in the 15-team field on Monday. The two-day, 54-hole tournament is being held at the par-70, 6,617-yard Palmetto Golf Club.

Recapping the Day
> Sophomore Ethan Whitney had a great day, finishing with rounds of 68 and 69, good for a three-under 137 and share of 7th place in the individual rankings. He led the Owls with 10 birdies on the day.
> Junior Graham Chase shot a two-over 142, including a one-under 69 in the second round. He had the team's lone eagle, coming on hole 10 in the first round. Chase sits tied for 19th after the first day.
> Sophomore Jake Naese shot a three-over 143, with his first round coming in at an even 70, a new career-best round. Naese is currently tied for 23rd.
> Senior Conor McGrath shot an eight-over 148, while sophomore Joey Morganti shot a 14-over 154. McGrath is tied for 48th and Morganti is tied for 66th.

The Field
> South Carolina leads after the first day at seven-under. Wisconsin is in second at an even par. Mercer rounds out the top three at one-over. Temple sits at 10-over heading into Tuesday.

> Temple will tee off at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the final round of the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate.
