Men's Crew Opens Spring Season at Stanford Invite

STANFORD - Temple Men's Crew began their spring season this weekend at the Stanford Invite vs. #13 Stanford, #17 Oregon State, and #25 Santa Clara

Temple featured their Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight boats in the event.

RACE RESULTS

Saturday
>The Owls Varsity Eight won both of their races vs. Santa Clara with a time of 6:00.6
>Varsity Eight also was victorious vs. Oregon State with a time of 5:50.7
>Temple's Second Varsity Eight defeated Santa Clara in their first race with a finishing time of 6:09.2
>The Second Varsity Eight dropped their second race of the day to Oregon State by five seconds and finished at 6:04.9

Sunday
>Varsity Eight fell to Stanford by nine seconds to end their weekend at 2-1
>Stanford also prevailed in the Second Varsity Eight over the Owls with Temple finishing at 6:33.5

"This was a very good away race weekend against top 25 ranked opponents. We gave a tough fight in our loss to Stanford and it was an effort to be proud of. Our goal on the west coast was to get ranked against west coast crews, learn a bit, and get faster. I feel like we hit all of our goals. Now back home to bring the Murphy Cup back to North Broad Street." said Head Coach Brian Perkins.
