OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — The Temple Women's Rowing team placed fourth as a team with 108 points at the American Athletic Conference Championship in Oak Ridge, Tennessee on Sunday, May 14.
The Owls were led by their Varsity 8 boat, which medaled at conference for the first time since 2016. Temple placed third out of six teams in the field, earning a bronze medal in the event. The Owls placed fourth in the Second Varsity 8, Varsity 4, and Second Varsity 4 events.
Sophomore Gemma Wollenschaeger earned first team all-AAC honors while junior Maggie Page and freshman Olivia Elliott were named to the all-AAC second team.
"To have the V8 back on the medal stand is awesome and indicative of the commitment that the whole team had throughout the year," Head Coach Rebecca Grzybowski said. "You don't get a fast 1V without a strong team and we had the best year of training and racing that I have seen at Temple. We had full investment across all boats and learned a lot of important lessons that will set us up for seasons to come."
