PHILADELPHIA – Temple head coach Brian Quinn released his 2023 Fall Golf Schedule today and his Owls will compete in five tournaments, highlighted by the Temple Invitational at The 1912 Club on September 16-17.
"We are looking forward to the 2023 season getting underway," said Quinn. "We return five of our top six golfers from last year led by Graham Chase and Ethan Whitney. They are joined by six talented newcomers, including three transfers, making this season the most competitive in my time at Temple for a spot in the lineup."
Temple tees off its season at the Cornell Fall Invite on Sept. 10-11 before hosting the Temple Fall Invite at The 1912 Club the following weekend.
The Owls are then off for two weeks before opening the month of October at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic, hosted by East Carolina University, on Oct. 2-3. The team then travels across country to play in the Bill McCollum Invitational at The Saticoy Club in Somis, Calif. on Oct. 9-10.
Temple closes out its fall slate with a trip to the Phoenix Invitational, hosted by Elon University and held at the Alamance Country Club on Oct. 16-17.
Chase, a senior, led the team last season with a 72.31 stroke average while Whitney followed closely at 72.60. The Owls also return three other golfers who played more than 15 rounds on the season in senior Andrew Curran (76.19 strokes per round), junior Joey Morganti (76.40) and junior Jake Naese (76.82).
Four other veterans, redshirt-junior Andres Aranguren, junior Greg Hanna, sophomore Brett McGrath and sophomore Darren Nolan, along with six incoming golfers, transfers Aidan Emmerich (Michigan State), Jake Haberstumpf (Moravian) and Michael Walsh (Lafayette), and freshmen, Ben Saggers (Bishop Shanahan HS), twin brothers Matthew and Michael Vital, (Liberty HS), complete the 15-man roster.
