Women's Soccer Hosts Rider Thursday Night

PHILADELPHIA-Â The Temple women's soccer team returns home this Thursday as the Owls face off against the Rider Broncs. This is the Women's Rights and Gender Equity Match for the Owls, highlighting the importance of achieving a level playing field in all areas of life regardless of gender. Â
Scouting Temple
- Temple suffered a heartbreaker at the Loyola (MD) Greyhounds on Sunday evening. After being tied the whole match, the Greyhounds scored in the 85th minute to take the 1-0 victory.
- Freshman goalkeeper Tamsin Bynoe impressed with six saves on seven shot attempts.
- Jessica Carrieri leads the Owls in shots with four.
- Three field players in addition to Bynoe have played all 180 minutes so far this season. Captain Phoebe Hollin, Julie Jakobsen, and Anna-Lena Stein.
Scouting RiderÂ
- The Broncs stand at 1-1 on the young season, with a victory over Wagner and a loss at home against LIU.
- Rider finished fourth in the MAAC last season, they were picked fifth in the preseason poll prior to this season.
- The team returns star goalkeeper Ellie Sciancalepore. The Randolph, N.J. native played every minute of the season last year. She voted First Team All-MAAC for her efforts after posting a GAA of 1.32.
- Drayson Hounsome is in his 23rd season as an NCAA head coach. He spent his first seven seasons at LIU Post (DII), and has been at Rider for 16 seasons. Hounsome has led the Broncs to ten straight MAAC Tournaments and its first NCAA tournament berth.

- This is the 11th match between the two sides. The two met last season, with a 0-0 draw at Rider being the result.
