Volleyball's Taylor Davenport Voted AAC Offensive Player of the Week

Davenport becomes first Temple winner since 2017
IRVING, Texas – Temple's Taylor Davenport was named the American Athletic Conference's (AAC) Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, announced by the conference.
Davenport is the first Owl to receive the prestigious weekly honor since Izabella Rapacz on Oct. 16, 2017.
The Columbia, S.C. native won the Hilton Philadelphia Penn's Landing Cherry & White Challenge MVP award, leading Temple to a 3-0 start for the first time since 2019. Davenport started in all three matches where she tallied a tournament-best 57 kills, while averaging 6.33 kills per set. The senior hit .333 on 123 total attacks with just 16 errors.
Davenport started the season on Aug. 25 versus Iona with 18 kills on 37 total attacks, and just one error leading to a .459 hitting percentage. A day later against the LIU Sharks, Davenport earned her first career double-double, accumulating 20 kills and 10 digs. She wrapped-up her monster weekend with 19 kills and seven digs against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks on Sunday.
After the first weekend of action, the senior is ranked second in the NCAA with 6.33 kills per set and 7.06 points per set, tied for fourth with 57 kills, and sixth with 63.5 total points.
Temple will be back in action on Tuesday in McGonigle Hall as it hosts Delaware State at 6:00 p.m. The match will be available on the ESPN+ app.
