Weekend Guide: Memphis, UAB

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple Women's Volleyball team will enter its 4th weekend of conference play when they travel south to face Memphis and UAB. The Owls are currently 3-3 in the American Conference and ranked 6th overall. The Memphis match will take place Friday at Elma Roane Fieldhouse at 7:30 p.m. The UAB match will take place Sunday, at Bartow Arena at 1:00 p.m. The match at Memphis stream on ESPN+.
News In The Nest
Junior Christiana Greene had a record breaking performance on Sunday, reaching a career high 28 kills on .364 hitting in the match. She overall had a fantastic weekend adding 47 kills to her resume. Greene has been on a tear, showing why she was recognized as an all-conference player at the start of the year, she is consistently one of the Owls top performers since the start of conference play.
Lexi Yoza had a fantastic weekend as well, she recorded 40 assists in a thrilling win over North Texas, and totaled 76 over the entire weekend. She is currently at 483 assist for the year and 2364 in her career. Yoza is on track to break into the top 10 assist leaders of all time at Temple if she continues her current success.
Jaya Moore has recently come into form since conference play began. She is 5th on the team in kills with 123 and has been the second most reliable scorer behind Greene. Her athleticism and timely kills has been a huge addition to the Temple attack.
We also have to mention Freshman Sarah Quarells who added four blocks to her resume over the weekend. She looked great as a middle blocker, and has complemented Khenedi Guest with her defensive presence. She has also proved to be a clever scorer, providing timely kills from the middle.
Scouting Memphis
Memphis is currently 6-11 overall and 1-5 in the conference, they are on a three game losing streak. On Offense they are led by Caitlyn Little who has 270 kills on the season, she is paired with Sydney Marshall who leads the team in assists with 603. On Defense, Libero Abigail Schlueter is the digs leader with 213, and Kaylee Parker leads the team in blocks with 56.

Temple is leading the series 13-8 having last played in 2025 where the Owls won the match 3-1.
Scouting UAB
UAB is currently 7-11 overall and 1-5 in the conference, they lost their most recent match to Tulane who is at the top of the conference. On offense, Kennedy Vaughn leads the way with 207 kills, she is paired with Rachel McCollum who leads the team with 377 assists. On defense, Delaney Bowser is the digs leader with 233, and Addyson Smock is the blocks leader with 68.

The series is currently tied at 2-2 all time, with Temple having won the most recent match on September 25th 3-0.
