Temple Heads to Big Apple to Take on St. John's

The Owls are still looking for their first win of 2023.

QUEENS, N.Y.- The Temple men's soccer team returns to the road Monday night, heading to New York to face St. John's. The Owls are coming off a two-game homestand that saw them fall to Saint Joseph's and American.

The Owls are 0-2-2 so far this year. but enter the week on a two-game losing streak. They will look to bounce back in the final match before conference play kicks off on the 16th.

All three Temple goals this season have been scored by freshmen. Elias Betancourt is the latest rookie Owl to get in on the action, netting Temple's lone score on Friday against American. Nikolai Zapolskikh and Gudmundur Neilsson have also scored.

Draven Barnett leads all Temple field players with 265 minutes played so far. Flannan Riley has played 343 minutes in net, but ceded time to Andrew Kempe at the end of Friday's contest.

Scouting St. John's
> The Red Storm are 3-1-1 so far in 2023, most recently defeating St. Peter's on Friday. They also own wins over Lehigh and Monmouth, Temple's first two opponents this season.
> Junior forward Nicolas Fleuriau Chateau leads the Big East with three goals scored. 
> This is just the fourth all-time matchup between the two teams, all coming since 2017. St. John's has one each of the first three meetings.
