Men's Tennis Announces Fall 2023-Spring 2024 Schedule

PHILADELPHIA – After a successful fall 2022 season, which included a run in the ITA Fall Atlantic Regionals for several student-athletes, and a strong spring 2023 season, which earned the team's participation in the AAC Championship, Temple men's tennis is set for a highly competitive year. Head Coach Steve Mauro has announced the brief fall schedule which is set to open Sept. 15th, and the heavy 20-match spring schedule which is set to open on Jan. 20.
"We are extremely excited for this year," said Mauro. "We have a whole new team, aside from a few returners. They are a talented group who is eager to see their hard work lead continue the program's winning track record. We look forward to the opportunities ahead of us this year."
The Owls will open the fall season on the road, where they will participate in the Penn Invite from Sept.15-17. The Cherry and While will then travel to TULSA for the All-American ITA Championships from Oct. 1-8, followed by the ITA Regionals at Liberty from Oct. 11-15. To close out the fall season, Temple will participate in the Navy Invitational from November 10-12.
The Owls will open their spring season on the road, traveling to Norfolk, Va., to compete against ODU on Jan. 20. The next day, Temple will take on Norfolk State on Jan. 21. Men's Tennis will finish the month of January with two away games against Penn State on Jan. 26 and Toledo on Jan. 27.
To start off February matches, the Cherry and White will compete in Connecticut against Quinnipiac on Feb. 2. In a one day turn around, Temple will stay in Connecticut to take on Yale. Seven days later, the Owls will host their spring home-opener against Siena College on Feb. 10 at the Hecht Tennis Center.
Temple will begin March with a home match at Hecht Tennis Center on March 5. Three days later, on March 8th, the Owls will travel to Annapolis, Md. where they will play against Navy. On March 9th, the Owls will take on Creighton at Navy. The Cherry and White will then host a six-match home-stretch against Bucknell (March 17), Rider (March 27), Drexel (April 3), Hofstra (April 6), Hampton (April 7), and Monmouth (April 9).
Temple will close their season on the road, with matches at Tulsa against Tulsa on April 15 and SMU on April 16.
