Volleyball Heads to Boca Raton for Weekend AAC Action

The Owls are making their first conference road trip this season
PHILADELPHIA - The Temple volleyball team (9-3, 0-1 AAC) will continue American Athletic Conference play with a pair of matches in Boca Raton, Fla., against the Florida Atlantic Owls on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's game is set to begin at 6 p.m. and 1 p.m. on Sunday, both available on the FAU All-Access network.

Temple opened up AAC play on Wednesday with a 3-0 loss to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, 19-25, 16-25, 20-25. Tulsa's Kaley Cassaday led all players in the match with 18 kills, while the Cherry and White's Taylor Davenport led her team with nine kills. Additionally, the Golden Hurricane out hit the Owls to the tune of .372 to .222.

SCOUTING FLORIDA ATLANTIC
FAU (8-6, 0-1 AAC) fell to the North Texas on Wednesday in three sets, 22-25, 22-25, 20-25. Katelynn Robine and Romina Cornelio led the Florida Atlantic with team-high 11 kills, while Cornelio also posted a team-leading six digs. Arianna Beckham hit .318 in the match with eight kills. Victoria Hensley posted a season-high 40 assists and Lauryn Green recorded a match-high three blocks in the loss.

The threesome of Kaila Ru, Lauryn Green, and Madison Dyer have a key part of the early season success for FAU as all three players are ranked in the top 10 of the conference hitting percentage. Ru leads the team and is fourth in the conference at .371 and Green follows two spots behind in sixth with a .358 average. Dyer rounds out the FAU hitters in the top 10 (9th) with a .333 hitting percentage.
