PHILADELPHIA — Temple (2-2, 0-0) lost to the No. 20 Miami Hurricanes (4-0, 0-0), 41-7, on a rain-drenched day at Lincoln Financial Field. Amad Anderson Jr. stood out for the Owls, recording career-highs in receiving yards (117) and receptions (10). His 117 yards are the most by an Owl since Jose Barbon last season against ECU. This was the fourth 100-yard game of his career. 

How It Happened

  • On the second drive of the game, Miami scored on a seven-yard touchdown pass from QB Tyler Van Dyke to WR Xavier Restrepo to give the Hurricanes a 7-0 lead with 3:04 remaining in the first quarter.
  • The Hurricanes doubled their lead to 14-0 after Van Dyke completed to WR Colbie Young for a 28-yard touchdown with 12:11 remaining in the first half.
  • Just before the half, Temple QB E.J. Warner completed to TE Reese Clark for a nine-yard touchdown to cut the deficit to 24-7.
  • On the first drive of the second half, Miami extended its lead to 31-7 after RB Henry Parrish Jr. ran in a three-yard touchdown.
  • The Hurricanes added a passing touchdown and field goal to win the game 41-7.

  • WR John Adams recorded his first career catch in the first quarter.
  • CB Corey Cuascut-Palmer made his first appearance of the 2023 season.
  • Clark's touchdown reception was the first of his career.
  • WR Xavier Irvin recorded his first career catch.

Statistically Speaking

  • RB Darvon Hubbard set a new career-long reception with a 37-yard catch during the second quarter.
  • Alex Odom led the team in tackles with 11, one short of his career-best.
