Owls Hosting Saint Joseph's in Home Opener Tuesday Night

Temple is looking for their first win of 2023
PHILADELPHIA- The Temple men's soccer team will take the field at the Temple Sports Complex for their home opener on Tuesday, as Saint Joseph's will make the quick trip down from Hawk Hill to do battle at 7:00pm. The match will also be the Owls' first Philly Soccer Six contest of the young season.
Temple is off to a 0-0-2 start to the year, drawing at Monmouth and Lehigh in the first weekend of the regular season. They have scored once and allowed one goal, both coming in their last outing against the Mountain Hawks.Â
Nikolai Zapolskikh scored the Owls' lone goal at Lehigh, taking advantage of a loose ball to find the net in the 53rd minute. It was the first collegiate goal for the freshman, who also leads the team with five total shots through two games.
Flannan Riley has recorded seven saves in 180 minutes in goal so far, allowing just one goal on a penalty kick against Lehigh. He ranks second in the American with an .875 save percentage and .500 goals against average, and is third with 3.50 saves per game.
Both Riley and Zapolskikh have been named to the AAC's Weekly Honor Roll in the first two weeks of the season.
