Zapolskikh Named to AAC Weekly Honor Roll

The freshman scored his first career goal last week at Lehigh.
IRVING, Tex.- Temple men's soccer freshman Nikolai Zapolskikh was named to the American Athletic Conference's Weekly Honor Roll, announced by the conference on Monday. He is one of two Owls to be recognized by the AAC in the first two weeks of the season, joining goalkeeper Flannan Riley.
The first-year defender scored his first career goal last Monday against Lehigh, finding the net in the 53rd minute. It is also the lone score for the Owls so far this season. In addition, he helped anchor a Temple backline that allowed only five shots on goal and no goals from the field.
Zapolskikh and the rest of the Owls will be back in action for the home opener on Tuesday night against Saint Joseph's. Kickoff at the TSC is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
