Temple Women’s Soccer Face Memphis and South Florida This Week

PHILADELPHIA- Temple women's soccer has two matches scheduled this week. The Owls will host Memphis on Thursday at 7:00 PM and will head to Tampa, Florida, for an afternoon game against South Florida on Sunday at 1:00 PM.

Scouting Temple
- Carly Steinberg made two shot attempts in last week's game, with one on target, leading the team with eight shots on goal.
- Against Rice sophomore goalkeeper Tamsin Bynoe started her 12th game matching her career high with 14 saves, nine coming in the first half.
- Captain Phoebe Hollin, key player at defensive back, leads the team in minutes playing 90 minutes in every game.
- Senior goalkeeper Kaylie Bierman ranks 17th in the country in goals-against average (0.47) and was the 2023 AAC Goalkeeper of the Year. She has only allowed six goals this year.
- Sophomore midfielder Michaela Hill earned Offensive Player of the Week honors last week.
- Memphis has generated 68 corner kicks this season. Ashley Henderson, a sophomore, leads the team with 10 points and 22 shots. Memphis excels in the second half, scoring 12 of their 19 goals after halftime.

Scouting South Florida
- Anna Sutter scored her sixth goal of the season last week against UAB.
- The Bulls rank 35th in the NCAA, averaging 17.36 shots per match, which is second in the AAC. They have out shot their opponents 214 to 92.
- Last week, midfielder Ai Kitagawa was named Freshman of the Week.
- South Florida was ranked second in the AAC preseason poll and finished second in the AAC regular season last year.
