PHILADELPHIA - Alizé Maes scored a pair of goals as the Temple field hockey team downed the Quinnipiac Bobcats 2-1 in BIG EAST play on Friday afternoon.

With the win, the Owls claim to No. 2 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

BY THE NUMBERS

For Maes, the goals were her fifth and sixth of the season, tying Tess Muller and Devin Kinzel for the team lead.
Kinzel and Peyton Rieger each had an assist in the game.
Temple now has double digit victories for a third year in a row. It is the first time it has accomplished the feat since 2012-14.

HOW IT HAPPENED

TU got the scoring started midway through the opening period. Rieger tracked a long ball down the right side and cut across the baseline into the circle. She delivered a perfect feed to Maes who settled the ball before sweeping it into the bottom left corner.
The game remained 1-0 until the fourth when the Bobcats evened the score off a rebound that came from an initial shot on a penalty corner.
Temple posted the final tally of the game on a corner of its own. After the insert by Muller and a trap by Kinzel, Maes weaved around a defender and rifled a shot into the back of the cage.

UP NEXT
The Owls close the regular season on Sunday, November 3, hosting Lehigh at noon. The team will honor its seniors in a pregame ceremony. Additionally, the first 100 fans at Howarth Field will receive a pair of Temple field hockey socks.
