Green and Kempe Earn AAC Honors

PHILADELPHIA - Â After clinching a spot in the AAC Tournament, Temple's Kemali Green and Andrew Kempe were respectively named AAC Defensive Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week. This is the second consecutive week that Green has won the award and the fourth straight week that Green has been honored.
Andrew Kempe was instrumental in goal during Temple's match against Tulsa as TU clinched a spot in the AAC Championship. Kempe earned his fourth clean sheet of the season and has allowed only six goals this year - the lowest from an Owl since 2012. Temple now enters the conference championship with the highest save percentage in the AAC with a mark of .857.
Kemali Green was once again a rock on Temple's backline as TU shutout Tulsa 1-0 on the road. The Owl defense held strong for the entire match as Green was crucial in causing many stops. Green has been a force as Temple has allowed the second-fewest goals in conference play, only allowing four.
The Owls will now turn their attention to Charlotte, as Temple will compete in the first round of the AAC Tournament. The action from Charlotte, N.C. is slated to start at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night.
