Owls Fall at Home to #15 West Virginia on Sunday Afternoon

PHILADELPHIA- Temple women's basketball (5-4, 0-0 AAC) falls to #15 West Virginia (10-1, 0-0 Big 12) in front of 1,672 at the Liacouras Center. The leading scorer for the Owls Tiarra East had 12 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.

First Quarter
Temple will head to Berkeley, Calif. for the Raising the B.A.R. Invitational. The Owls will face Xavier at 11 p.m. ET on Saturday, Dec. 21, and a matchup with either Cal or Fordham the following day.

First Quarter
- Temple won the tip and Jaleesa Molina followed a missed shot with a rebound and easy putback for the game's first score.
- After two made free throws by West Virginia, Tiara East hit an early three-pointer for a 5-2 lead before WVU answered with a 5-0 run at the first media timeout at 6:50 (7-5).
- WVU used three threes while Temple chipped away from inside to bring the score to 16-13 at the end of the quarter. The Owls outscored the Mountaineers 8-2 from the paint in the first frame.
- The Owls held West Virginia to 27% shooting in the first quarter. The Mountaineers went 5-18 from the field while the Owls went 5-16.
- The Mountaineers scored the first points in the second quarter with a jumper by Harrison and Kayla Watson.
- Molina responded with a layup making the score 20-15 with 8:31 remaining.
