Opening Tip
Following a 63-89 loss to No. 24 California in the championship game of the Raising the B.A.R. Invitational, the Owls are set to open conference play against UAB.

News & Notes
• The Owls start conference play after losing 63-89 to No. 24 California in the championship game of the Raising the B.A.R. Invitational.
• Tristen Taylor had a season-high 17 points against Cal, shooting 7-10 from the floor and recording a field-goal percentage of 70%.
• The Owls were outrebounded 25-45 by Cal, marking the lowest rebound margin this season for Temple.
• Temple had four free-throw attempts against Cal. The last time the Owls had fewer than five free-throw attempts in a game was in 2022 against Bucknell when the Owls had four.
• The Owls forced 20 Cal turnovers while committing only 10 turnovers themselves.
• Cal made 10 three-pointers in the first half, which was the most the Owls had given up in a half all season.
• The Owls defeated UAB 86-72 last year in Birmingham.
• Temple will travel back home to face East Carolina at the Liacouras Center on January 1.

• The Blazers are on a four-game win streak, following a 76-51 win over Alcorn State on December 15.
• UAB is coming off a 75-57 win against Southern Illinois on December 22.
• Maddie Walsh is the leading scorer for UAB, averaging 13.2 points per game. Sara Bershers (10.8 points) and Journey Armstead (10.3 points) both average double-digit points for the Blazers.
• The Blazers' three losses came against Jacksonville State (56-68), Clemson (52-90), and Auburn (62-69).
• The Blazers are undefeated at home this year, with a record of 5-0.
• In the 2023-24 season, the Blazers finished with an 18-14 record and a 9-9 record in conference action.
• UAB accepted an invite to the WNIT Tournament, where the Blazers lost in the first round to Southern Miss by a score of 74-79.

T-Mac Moves Up All-Time Three-Point Leaderboard
• Fifth-year Tarriyonna Gary, nicknamed "T-Mac," has been a sharpshooter from the moment she stepped foot on campus just over two years ago.
• Gary has led the team in three-point field goals made in each of the last two seasons.
• Gary has passed Natalia Issac for 6th in Temple history in career three-point field goals made. She also ranks 4th in Temple's school history with a 37.0% three-point shooting percentage.

The Race to 1000
• Tiarra East has scored 1,000 points for the Temple Owls after a 20-point performance against Xavier.
• Tarriyonna Gary has scored a total of 992 points in her collegiate career, leaving her just 8 points shy of reaching 1,000. Out of those 992 points, 645 have been earned during her time at Temple.

Top-Five Conference Ranks
• Temple ranks third in the conference in steals per game (9.5).
• The Owls rank third in the AAC in three-point percentage (32.7%).
• Temple ranks fourth in the conference in rebounds per game (14.4).
• The Owls rank second in the conference in forcing turnovers with 19.73.
