Opening Tip
The Owls secured their first conference win of the season with a 97-74 victory over UAB on Sunday, and look to take on ECU in the Liacouras Center on New Year's Day.

News & Notes
• The Owls picked up a 97-74 win over UAB on Sunday afternoon.
• Tarrioynna Gary surpassed 1,000 points in the matchup against UAB with nine points, three rebounds, and two assists.
• Molina had a career-high 17 points and 10 rebounds, marking her first double-double.
• Temple outrebounded UAB 41-27 while scoring 42 points in the paint compared to the Blazers' 24 points.
• Temple capitalized on UAB's 12 turnovers in the first half, scoring 19 points off them.
• Jaleesa Molina went 7-7 from the free-throw line. The last time an Owl went perfect from the line was in 2023 when Tiarra East went 9-9 against Ole Miss.
• Temple will travel down to Tampa, Fla., to take on USF on Sunday, January 4.

Scouting the Pirates
• ECU is coming off an 84-93 road loss to Tulsa to start conference play.
• Before the loss to Tulsa, ECU had a five-game winning streak dating back to December 8, when the Pirates defeated Elon 60-43.
• Amiya Joyner (16.2 points) and Jayla Hearp (11.4 points) are averaging double-digit points for ECU.
•  Against Tulsa, the Pirates had four players hit double digits: Jayla Hearp (21 points), Khia Miller (13 points), Amiya Joyner (12 points), and Tatyana Wyche (10 points).
• ECU is 6-0 at home this season, with wins over Charleston Southern, Furman, Howard, Elon, VCU, and UNCW.
• In last year's matchup against Temple, ECU lost 66-81 to the Owls at home.
• In the 2023-24 season, the Pirates finished with a 19-14 record and a 9-9 conference record.

Starting Off Hot
• Temple shot a season-high 72% (13-18) from the field in the first quarter. The Owls also had eight free-throw attempts in the first quarter, which is the most all season.
• The Owls went 18-20 from the free-throw line against UAB, achieving a free-throw percentage of 90%, the highest percentage since 2023 against UCF.
• Temple's 34 points in the first quarter were the most in a quarter since February of the 2023-24 season against UAB (32 points).
• Four Owls scored in double figures: Tiarra East (21), Jalessa Molina (17), Anissa Rivera (13), and Tristen Taylor (13).

New Milestones
• Tiarra East and Tarriyonna Gary have both reached significant milestones in their careers, surpassing 1000 career points.
• Tiarra East is now 25th in Temple's all-time scoring list with 1,041,  just one point away from 24th and two points from 23rd. Averaging 16 points per game, she has scored over 20 points five times this season.
• Tarriyonna Gary is on track to move into fifth place in Temple's career three-pointers list, with over 200 threes made.
