•The Owls will face Villanova in the inaugural Big 5 Championship on Friday, December 6, at Finneran Pavilion.
•Temple secured a 73-68 victory over La Salle on Sunday to earn a spot in the Big 5 Championship.
•Kaylah Turner led the way for the Owls in scoring with a career-high 17 points on 6-12 shooting from the field. Turner's performance against La Salle helped her earn AAC Honorable Mention Honors.
•Turner (17 points), Tristen Taylor (10 points), and Tarryionna Gary (12 points) scored in double-figures for the Owls on Sunday.
•Gary had 12 points in the fourth quarter, which contributed to Temple's 26 points in the quarter.
•The Owls went 28-64 from the field, with a shooting percentage of 43% against La Salle.
•On Sunday, Temple's bench players combined for 30 points against La Salle, compared to La Salle's 15.
•The Owls will have a pivotal matchup against No. 15 West Virginia on December 15, at the Liacouras Center.
Scouting the Wildcats
• The Wildcats are coming off an 81-65 victory over St. Joesph's on December 1st.
• Before the win over St. Joesph, the Wildcats suffered back-to-back losses to No. 16 UNC (36-53) and Baylor (62-73) in the Battle 4 Atlantis.
• The Wildcats guards, Jasmine Bascoe (15.4 pts, four rebounds, and four assists) and Maddie Webber (12.5 points, three rebounds, and two assists), are averaging double-digit points.
• In the game against St. Joesph's, Bascoe had 26 points on 10-16 shooting while going a perfect 3-3 from behind the arc .
• Webber scored 18 points on 5-12 shooting and a perfect 6-6 from the free-throw line against St. Joesph's.
• Villanova shot 50% from the field going 30-59 from the floor while shooting 52% from the 3-point line on 9-17 attempts.
• In the 2023-24 season, Villanova finished with a 22-13 record and a 11-7 conference record. The Wildcats lost 57-71 in the WBIT Championship to Illinois.

• Tiarra East has scored 952 points in her career at Temple and is just 48 points away from reaching the 1,000-point milestone.
• Tarriyonna Gary has scored a total of 952 points in her collegiate career, leaving her just 48 points shy of reaching 1,000. Out of those 952 points, 619 have been earned during her time at Temple.
Fourth Quarter Rally
•Temple Women's basketball has outscored four of five opponents in the fourth. Limiting their last two opponents Drexel and Princeton, to only eight and 11 points in the previous 10 minutes.
•The Owls rallied back from an 18 and 17-point deficit in the second half and shot 44.4% from the field in the fourth quarter after trailing by 18 points against Princeton early in the third.
•Temple has had games where they were trailing by a significant margin entering the fourth quarter but managed to flip the script with high-intensity play, great ball movement, and other adjustments.
•TU has enhanced both their offensive and defensive play in the fourth quarter, effectively forcing turnovers from their opponents.
•Tarriyonna Gary contributed to Temple's win over La Salle scoring 12 points in the fourth quarter.
•Gary opened the fourth quarter with a three, making it a one-point game with 9:49 remaining.
• All of Gary's points came from the fourth quarter, scoring 12 of the 24 points for the Owls to close out the game.
