Lacrosse Hosting Delaware, Yale This Week

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's lacrosse team will look to extend their season opening win streak with home games this week vs. Delaware and Yale. The Owls are 3-0 at Howarth Field to start 2024, including a pair of 15-6 wins over Binghamton and Manhattan in the last seven days.

News From the Nest
> Katie Shallow was named AAC Defensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row to start the year. The senior posted ten ground balls and nine caused turnovers last week, and ranks in the top five nationally in both categories. Her 98 career caused turnovers are tied for the most in program history.
> Belle Mastropietro was once again named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll, her second selection in as many weeks. She led the Owls with ten points last week on the strength of six goals and four assists, and leads Temple with eight goals through three games.
> The Owls' defense is currently eighth best in the nation allowing 5.67 goals per game. Taylor Grollman's 4.00 GAA leads the American and is third in NCAA D-I.

Scouting Delaware
> The Blue Hens enter the match with a 3-0 record, with wins over Lehigh, UMBC, and Mount Saint Mary's.
> Freshman goalkeeper Steph Marszal has posted a .593 save percentage and 7.28 GAA so far this season.
> The Blue Hens have faced the Owls more often than any other opponent, with Temple holding a 20-18 record in the two teams' 38 all-time meetings. The Owls won last year's matchup 9-7 in Newark, with Belle Mastropietro scoring twice and causing five turnovers.

Scouting Yale
> The Bulldogs opened their season with a 13-12 win over Stanford on Saturday. They went 11-6 (4-3 Ivy) in 2023, falling to Penn in the conference championship.
> Junior Jenna Collignon netted a hat trick to open the season against the Cardinal. She was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List and was a unanimous All-Ivy selection in 2023.
> The Bulldogs defeated the Owls 15-6 last season in New Haven, but Temple still holds the advantage in the all-time series 9-2.
