Paul Hannack Clinches Owls Win Over Monmouth on Tuesday Afternoon

PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's tennis (7-11) won its second match of the week against the Monmouth Hawks (15-4). Paul Hannack clinched Temple's victory during the team's last match at the Hamlin Tennis Courts.

NOTES:

Monmouth won the doubles point from finding victory in the first and third positions. Martim Marujo and Paul Hannack earned their second doubles win of the week against Monmouth's Adam Hillerby/Gabriel Berner, 6-3.
The Owls completed singles matches in the same order as their positions, tabbing wins from the second, third, fourth, and sixth positions. Although Monmouth earned a second point at the start of singles play, Martim Marujo tabbed Temple's first point in a 6-2, 6-1 victory against Monmouth's Adam Hillerby. Henrique Petiz followed suit with a three-set victory over Gabriel Berner, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4. The Cherry and White's third point came from Erden Er as he dominated Alex Martinez, 7-6(1), 6-1. With the score at a 3-3 draw, Paul Hannack clinched the win for Temple as he defeated Christof Zeiler in a thrilling three-set match, 7-5, 4-6, 7-5.
