Student-Athletes Take Part in Temple Commencement Exercises

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University held its 137th annual Commencement on May 8 with nearly 9,000 students, including 105 student-athletes included as part of the Temple University Class of 2024.
The 105 Owls represent all 19 of Temple's intercollegiate sports, as well as the spirit squads. Seven of those student-athletes earned graduate degrees.
"I would like to congratulate our student-athletes, as well as the entire Temple University graduating class, on this tremendous accomplishment," said Temple University Vice President and Debbie and Stanley Lefkowitz '65 Director of Athletics Arthur Johnson. "I am excited for each and every one of our graduating seniors. Navigating Covid challenges and the hard work you invested during your collegiate career has paid off and has prepared you for your future endeavors.
I would also like to thank Tara Evans and her staff at the Nancy and Donald Resnick Academic Support Center for Student-Athletes on their hard work and support during your academic careers."
Temple's Class of 2024 has continuously raised the standard throughout their time on North Broad Street. The class has a combined GPA of 3.42.
The Owls' graduating class earned degrees from 45 different academic programs and represented 12 different countries.
In celebration of their accomplishments, Temple Athletics held a toast for its graduating student-athletes and their families on May 8. Each graduate was presented with a special student-athlete sash that was worn during the ceremonies.
