Temple Women’s Track Competes at Day 2 of AAC Outdoor Championships

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The Temple Women's Track & Field team concluded Day 2 of the AAC Outdoor Championships, taking home two top-10 finishes.
 
The Owls earned three points toward the team standings on Day 2. Cierra Crane and Aliza White Vega led the way with two top-10 finishes in the pole vault. The Cherry & White also saw two new personal records set.
 
How it Happened
> In the pole vault, Crane led the way with a sixth-place finish at 3.88 meters (12-08.75). White Vega placed ninth at 3.58 meters (11-09).
> Inara Shell leaped 5.73 meters (18-09.75) in the long jump, placing 13th. Obiamaka Igwenagu placed 19th at 5.56 meters (18-03).
> In the 400-meter prelims, Jade Pope set a new personal record with a time of 55.28 and was the 12th fastest finish out of 25 athletes. 
> Nya Browne set a new personal record in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 14.39. She also clocked in at 12.60 in the 100-meter prelims. Allyson Metzger finished at 12.50 in the 100-meter prelims.

Up Next
The Owls will shift to the final day of the AAC Championships on Sunday, where seven athletes will represent the Cherry & White on the final day of competition. Inara Shell and Obiamaka will open the day in the triple jump, which begins at 3:30 p.m. ET.
