Hampton-Keith Announces 2024 Volleyball Schedule

PHILADELPHIA – Temple volleyball head coach Linda Hampton-Keith announced the 2024 fall schedule on Friday. Coming off a 17-14 record during the 2023 season, the Owls will play a 31 regular season match-schedule which includes 14 at home inside McGonigle Hall.

Four straight home matches highlight the first weekend of the 2024 season where Temple host the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn's Landing Cherry & Challenge. To open up the tournament, Temple will take on Rider on Friday, Aug. 30 at 12 p.m. One day later the Cherry and White will play a pair of matches versus Radford at 3 p.m. and then Fairleigh Dickinson at 6 p.m. On Sunday, Sept. 1, nationally-ranked Penn State visits Temple for the second straight season. A season ago, the two teams squared off inside the Liacouras Center, but this time around, the two will meet on the McGonigle Hall hardwood at 1:30 p.m.

Just five days later, the Owls will be on the road for the first time as they visit Columbia, S.C. for the South Carolina Gamecocks' tournament, taking on the host South Carolina on Sept. 6, North Carolina on Sept. 7, and then Presbyterian College on Sept. 8.
 
Temple continues its early season travel the very next weekend when it travels to College Station, Texas for the Texas A&M tournament. On Sept. 13, the Owls will match up with the Aggies, and then Louisiana and New Hampshire on Sept. 14 and Sept. 15, respectively.
 
Hampton-Keith's squad will be back in the Philadelphia area Sept. 20-21 when it visits Villanova. The Cherry and White will kick-off the Wildcat's tournament against the host at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20. The Owls will play at 4:30 p.m. the next day either against Marist or Rhode Island.
 
The Owls will cap off the weekend on Sunday, Sept. 22, Temple and St. Peters will meet for the first time since 2003 at 1 p.m. at home inside McGonigle Hall.
 
TU begins American Athletic Conference play on the road as it goes back to the midwest in late September with matches against Wichita State on Friday, Sept. 27 and Tulsa on Sunday, Sept. 29.

To begin October, Temple fans will find their team back on North Broad Street with conference action against its Florida foes. On Oct. 4, South Florida visits McGonigle Hall for a 6 p.m. first serve. Two days later, Florida Atlantic takes on the Owls in a 1 p.m. scheduled match time. A midweek match versus Binghamton will conclude the homestand on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 12 p.m.
 
A two-match conference weekend takes place on Oct. 11 and 13 versus UAB and Memphis, respectively.
 
With a twist in the schedule, Temple will play on the road on Friday, Oct. 18 at East Carolina but will return home to McGonigle Hall on Sunday, Oct. 20 to meet up with Charlotte at 12 p.m., but two days after, Rider and Temple will meet up for a 6 p.m. in Lawrenceville, N.J.
 
To end the month, UTSA and Rice visit Philadelphia on Oct. 25 and 27. The Roadrunners and Owls first serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday the 25. Back in action on Sunday, Oct. 27th, Temple and Rice battle over the Owls namesake at 2 p.m.
 
The Cherry and White go into the final month of the regular season with six matches scheduled, three of which are on the road and three are at home.
To start the year-end countdown, Hampton-Keith's squad will visit Florida with matches against South Florida on Friday Nov. 1 and Florida Atlantic on Nov. 3.
 
Starting with a visit from the Tulane on Nov. 8 at 6 p.m,, Temple will also take on North Texas on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m., and East Carolina on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. will close out the home schedule.

The final match of the 2024 regular season will take place on the road at Charlotte on Sunday, Nov. 11.
