Rimpel, Votel, and Green Receive Weekly AAC Awards

PHILADELPHIA- Â Xavier Rimpel, Charlie Votel, and Kemali Green of the Temple men's soccer team have been honored by the American Athletic Conference in its weekly awards. Rimpel was named the AAC Offensive Player of the Week, Votel was named the AAC Freshman of the week, and Green was named as an AAC honorable mention.
Rimpel scored one goal and recorded two assists as the Owls got off to a 1-0-1 start. He recorded all of his points on Sunday night against Villanova. The senior from Ontario assisted on both of the Temple's goals in the first half, the first on a corner and the second on a well delivered cross into the box. He added to his career day, converting a penalty in the 63rd minute.

Votel scored the first goal of his TU career on Sunday night against Villanova in the 22nd minute off an assist from Xavier Rimpel. The freshman also launched two shots in Thursday night's matchup against Army, with one of them being on goal.

Green logged 90 minutes in both of Temple's matches this season. His strong defensive presence assisted the Owls in containing Army's defense to just one goal on Thursday night. Additionally, Green fired one shot on target in Temple's 3-2 victory on Sunday night.
