Men's Basketball Announces Non-Conference Slate

9.12.24 | Men's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple University men's basketball team announced its 2024-25 non-conference schedule on Thursday. The Owls are set to take on multiple opponents from the ACC, the Atlantic 10 and will compete in the second annual Big 5 Classic at Wells Fargo Center.

"I am extremely excited about our non-conference schedule which kicks off November 4th at the Liacouras Center," said head coach Adam Fisher. "The opportunities to test ourselves early and often with some tough road and neutral site games we feel will prepare our team to play meaningful games in March. We need all of our students, faculty, alumni and fans at the Liacouras Center this year."

Temple kicks off the season hosting Sacred Heart in the first matchup between the schools on Nov. 4 at the Liacouras Center. The Owls then make the short trip to Trenton, N.J. to face Monmouth in the Jersey Jam on Nov. 8.
The first Philadelphia Big 5 game of the season follows on Nov. 12 as TU hosts Drexel before heading on the road to face Boston College on Nov. 15.

The Owls make a trip back to New England the following week to participate in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., taking on Florida State on Nov. 22 and UMass on Nov. 23. City basketball dominates the end of November and beginning of December, as TU goes to Olney to play La Salle on Nov. 30. The Owls and Explorers played an epic triple-overtime contest last season that ended in a 106-99 Temple win. That game rolls into the Second Annual Big 5 Classic at the Wells Fargo Center on Dec. 7.

Three games in seven days are on the schedule leading into the holidays with a trip to Hofstra (Dec. 15) and a home game against Davidson (Dec. 18) leading up to the Hall of Fame Showcase and a showdown with Rhode Island in Springfield, Mass. on Dec. 21. The non-conference slate wraps with a home game against Buffalo on Dec. 29.

Temple is coming off a trip to the American Athletic Conference championship game where it became the first team in AAC and just the third in NCAA history to play five games in five days in its conference tournament. During the event, the Owls toppled UTSA, SMU, Charlotte and FAU. The full AAC schedule will be released soon at owlsports.com.
