Women's Soccer Fights to Finish in Narrow 2-1 Loss to ECU in AAC Opener

PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's soccer battled in a tough 2-1 loss over ECU in their first conference game Thursday night.Â
From the opening whistle, the game was a back-and-forth affair, with both sides creating scoring opportunities. ECU tallied their goals in the 32nd and 44th minute. Despite trailing 2-0 at halftime, the Owls responded with aggression. Carly Steinberg scored an impressive left-footed goal in the 47th minute, marking Temple's first conference goal since Sept. 14, 2023. In an attempt to tie the game, Sumaya Togba skimmed the post in the 73rd minute.
The Cherry & White had a strong defensive stance in the second half only allowing four shots. Goalkeeper Tamsin Bynoe has over 50 saves this season with five of them coming from tonight's matchup.
